Yoga is an ancient holistic wisdom of India and a practical science which signifies a harmonious Integration at all levels of human existence. The essence of yoga is first available in Vedic literatures. All traditional Indian schools of Yoga advocate a movement towards the perfection of body and mind which lead to the soul and the almighty.

Modalities followed for admission: Minimum Qualification: The candidate should have completed 12th standard in any Discipline from a recognized board or equivalent and having score in CUET-UG 2024.

a) In addition to score obtained by a candidate in CUET-UG 2024, one is required to appear in the Departmental Entrance Test (DET) of 50 marks which will consist of two sections as below:

i. Demonstration/Performance (Basic Asanas, Pranayamas, Shatkarmas, etc.) - 40 marks

ii. Viva - 10 marks

The date and venue of DET will be notified on www.vbadmission.in after the publication of CUET-2024 score

Final merit list will be prepared on the basis of the combined score obtained by the candidate both in CUET-UG 2024 and DET (Departmental Entrance Test) conducted by the Department with 50:50 ratio i.e. with equal weightage.

  • Admission Procedure:-

    a. Performance Test: - 50 marks (Basic Asanas, Pranayamas and Shatkarmas etc.)

    b. Objective and Written Test in English: - 50 marks (Based upon B.Sc. Yoga syllabus and general affairs).

  • Modalities of Admission :-Admission shall be made on merit basis from the marks obtained in the Entrance Test (Performance Test + Written Test)

  • Ranking in the Entrance Test will be made out of 100 marks.

  • Rules for Reservation: Reservation for SC/ST/OBC/EWS/PWD and other categories shall be as per the rules of Government of India.

APPLICATION GUIDELINES FOR CERTIFICATE, DIPLOMA, ADVANCE DIPLOMA, POST GRADUATE DIPLOMA, SKILL DEVELOPMENT COURSE &FOREIGN CASUAL COURSE

  • Only current students of all Bhavana of Visva-Bharati will be eligible (Except Certificate/Diploma/Advanced Diploma Courses of Kala Bhavana and all Post-Graduate Diploma and Skill Development Courses) for admission to Certificate/Diploma/Advanced Diploma Courses.

  • The following categories of persons shall be eligible to apply for admission to Certificate, Diploma and Advanced Diploma Courses in languages if they fulfill the below conditions

    • Full time regular students of Post-graduate, Under-graduate, Pre-degree Course and registered Ph.D. students of Visva-Bharati.

    • Regular full-time members of the Staff of Visva-Bharati.

    • Other persons of the following specifications, if approved by the Upacharya, Visva-Bharati, on the basis of the recommendation of the Adhyaksha, BhashaBhavana.

    • Note: Since all the courses mentioned above are part-time language courses, students admitted to such courses shall be treated as “PART TIME”

  • Students against whom disciplinary action has been taken for indiscipline/anti-institutional activities etc. shall not be eligible for admission to the university academic programme.

  • DateofEntranceTest/Interview: The date of Entrance test/interviewwillbefinalized by the concerned Department. Date, time and venue will be notified in the University Admission Portalwww.vbadmission.in

  • Venue of Examination: RespectiveDepartment/CentreofeachBhavana/Vibhaga (Institute)or as otherwise notified. In case of online admission test, modalities will be announced on University website/admissionportal/Bhavana notice board in due course oftime

  • Qualifying marks for admission is 30% for General and 27% for OBC Candidates. No qualifying marks are required for SC & ST candidates. Qualifying marks for PWD as per Govt. of India rules.

  • Reservation of Seats: Reservation of seats for OBC, SC, ST, EWS and Differently abled candidates will be made as per the rules of the Government of India.

  • Declaration of list of eligible Candidates: The Department/CentreofBhavana/Vibhaga (Institute)will publish the list of eligible candidates on the Notice Board of the Department/ Centre and in the University website (www.vbadmission.in) atleast seven days before the date of examination/ interview.

  • Incomplete applications are liable to be summarily rejected. Rights of cancellation or admission lies with the Admission Committee of the Bhavanas / Vibhaga (Institute) concerned. The University reserves the right to restrict the number of eligible applicants to be called for admission test/interview.

  • Online Application Procedure: Candidates have to apply through our online application system. The Online application allows the candidate to provide all in formation and also to upload scanned photograph(4cmx3cm) and signature.

  • Candidates must be very careful during the entry of the data/information. No claim shall be entertained subsequently for data entry mistakes committed by the applicant at the time of the online application. Incomplete applications are liable to be rejected summarily.

  • Applicants must produce their original final mark sheets of all previous public examinations and other relevant documents along with self-attested photo-copies at the time of counseling/admission to various courses failing which his/ her candidature will not be considered for admission. If any discrepancy is identified during verification, his/her provisional admission will be treated as cancelled. This should also be noted that the date of counseling/admission may be announced 24-48 hrs before, including holidays. Applicants must be careful to ensure their candidature(s) for counseling/document verification for confirming the admission.

  • 25% of intake capacity at the university level will be made available for international students/foreign students including NRI on supernumerary basis. 5% of seats out of the 25% supernumerary seats for admission of foreign students shall be earmarked for children of Indian workers in the Gulf and South-East Asia.

  • The applicants are advised to use their own/parents/guardians or relative‟s bank account for payment of admission/application fee. In case of cancellation/subject change or otherwise, an automated refund will be processed to the same account from where payment was made.

  • In case of online counseling/document verification, documents will be physically verified by the Department during physical class and if document is found incorrect the provisional admission will be treated as cancelled. Further, students have to submit the different undertaking forms, affidavits, and medical fitness certificates to the department during physical verification of the documents. All the related formats will be made available through the admission portal so that candidates may download to submit.

  • All matters of dispute shall be taken to Bolpur Court District Birbhum under the jurisdiction of Calcutta High Court.

Note: Visva-Bharati remains closed on Saturday and Sundays, Rabindra Bhavana (Wednesday and Thursday) and Patha-Bhavana (Wednesday and Sunday). However, all the Bhavanas (Institutes)/Administrative offices work from 9.30 am 6.00 pm.
